On October 25, 2015, we celebrated the 125th Anniversary of St. Paul’s by having a Celebration Worship Service. Our two wonderful pastors at that time, Rev. Lynn Oliver Marino and Rev. Linda Presley, conducted the service. The extraordinary efforts of our former Director of Traditional Music Amanda Batts, our current Director of Music Ministries Katie Maurer, and our former Co-Director of Discovery Music Kasey Gathercole, together with all of the members of our music groups created a terrific music program for the Service.

As part of St. Paul’s 125th Anniversary Celebration, we dedicated our new Allen Bravura three-manual digital organ by having an organ concert. The organ concert immediately preceded the Celebration Worship Service. We were delighted and honored to have the late Mr. Mark X. Hatfield give an incredible concert performance on our new organ. Mr. Hatfield was a legendary organist in the Evansville area, and we are pleased to be able to offer his performance on that date in his memory.

During the Celebration Worship Service, we recognized the 55th Ordination Anniversary of Dr. Robert J. Koch. Dr. Koch served as St. Paul’s Senior Pastor from 1979 until 1990. Today, Dr. Koch and his wife Joan Koch are members of St. Paul’s.
Dr. David Greenhaw, President of Eden Theological Seminary, served as our guest speaker. Dr. Greenhaw brought to us greetings from other congregations, and he delivered a powerful and comforting message.
After the service, we all enjoyed a wonderful and delicious lunch catered by Schnitzelbank of Jasper, Indiana. The lunch provided great food and fellowship, and there were many picture collages posted around the gymnasium showing many past and present members and events of St. Paul’s.
The People of St. Paul’s experienced a joyous and special occasion, and we are all looking forward to our next 125 years!
